The "Holy" letter M with a crown on top for Virgin Mary was used since the Middle Ages and Catholic times. After the reformation, the symbolism was forgotten so imaginative transformations like this could evolve. Often the letters M or A ("Ave Maria") were put in a ring so that they could serve as a eyelet. The ring that hangs in the front does not have a specific meaning. 925 Sterling silver.
