The "Holy" letter A for "Ave Maria" was used since the Middle Ages and Catholic times. After the reformation, the symbolism was forgotten. The letter A, as it appears in Gothic writing, resembles a human being and is therefor often called "the little man" amongst the Sami. Often the letters A or M were put in a ring so that they could serve as an eyelet. The ring that hangs in the front does not have any specific meaning. 925 Sterling silver.
